TWO BIRDS

Solo exhibition with Artwrk Gallery, January - February 2023

From idioms to puns, language has long been a playground for creative expression. Two Birds is a series of drawings that playfully reinterpret the phrase “two birds, one stone,” transforming it into a visual exploration of wordplay and meaning. Originating in the 1600s as a caution against taking on too much at once, the expression has since evolved into a celebration of clever efficiency. This series pushes the phrase even further, turning it into a collection of visual puns that highlight the elasticity of language and the humour embedded in idiomatic expressions. Through these works, Two Birds invites viewers to engage with language in a new way—where semantics become some antics.
